On the sidelines of the Eurasian Women's Forum in St. Petersburg, the Head (Bashkan) of Gagauzia, Evghenia Guțul, met with Konstantin Kosachev, Deputy Chairman of the Federation Council of the Russian Federation.
“Konstantin Iosifovich and I discussed the current political situation in the Republic of Moldova. I noted that the ruling party has effectively established an authoritarian regime in the country. In less than two years, the broadcasting licenses of 14 television channels have been revoked, hundreds of websites have been blocked, and censorship has been introduced on major social media platforms,” the Governor of Gagauzia stated following the meeting.
