Governor noted the contribution of the previous ambassador to the strengthening of the strategic interaction of Gagauzia with Russia and expressed interest in continuing the dialogue in all directions.
The head of the autonomy informed Oleg Vasnetsov about the visit to Moscow in the past few days, where a meeting was held with the Chairman of the State Duma and the Minister of Agriculture of the Russian Federation.
A little earlier, Governor, together with President of the Republic of Moldova Igor Dodon, met with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
Irina Vlah expressed satisfaction with the results of interregional cooperation with Russia, stressing the importance and fruitfulness of the visit to Gagauzia of Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov.
For his part, Russian Ambassador Oleg Vasnetsov noted the willingness of the embassy to support the autonomy. The diplomat expressed interest in building up cooperation of Gagauzia with the regions of Russia and filling the signed agreements with a socio-economic and humanitarian content.
During his visit to Gagauzia, the Russian ambassador also greeted the deputies of the Gagauzian People’s Assembly and met with the leaders of the primary organizations of the Council of Elders.
