The Governor (Bashkan) of Gagauzia Evghenia Guțul met with the Head of the Chuvash Republic Oleg Nikolaev on the platform of SPIEF.
“At the meeting with the Head of Chuvashia Oleg Alekseevich Nikolaev, we noted the importance of strengthening cultural, educational and research ties between our regions. The Gagauz autonomy and the Chuvash Republic are separated by a distance of thousands of kilometres, but in fact our peoples are very close to each other. Gagauzians and Chuvashians are Turkic peoples, who have adopted and absorbed the Orthodox faith into their culture,” the Bashkan said.
The Heads of the regions agreed to set up working groups to prepare a Partnership Agreement.
