Head of Gagauzia Evghenia Guțul addresses the Plenary session of the Eurasian Women's Forum
At the plenary session of the Eurasian Women's Forum, held at the Tauride Palace in St. Petersburg, the Head (Bashkan) of Gagauzia, Evghenia Guțul, delivered a speech outlining her vision of the role of women in politics, fostering trust, and strengthening global cooperation.
“The role of women throughout human history has always been significant, although it has often remained overshadowed by that of men. However, the era of excessive conservatism is gradually disappearing.
More and more people recognize that the defining qualities of a leader are not determined by gender, but by professionalism, knowledge, experience, and competence. This is also the case in Gagauzia, where the people of the autonomy, long regarded as a traditionally conservative society, have twice elected a woman to the highest office — the position of Head of the autonomy,” Bashkan of Gagauzia emphasized in her address.
